Fuseday · A daily puzzle

One board.
One commit.
One chain reaction.

Every day, everyone gets the same 8×8 board of coloured blocks. Place your charges, commit once, and watch a single cascade decide your score.

Fuseday #2, par 27: two charges placed on an 8×8 board of red, yellow, green and blue blocks, each with a white outline around the blocks it will hit directly, and a COMMIT button at the bottom.

The puzzle

You see the first hit. The chain is yours to work out.

A charge destroys the block beneath it and pushes its four neighbours one cell away. A block pushed into one of its own colour pops them both, and that pop pushes its neighbours in turn. The outline shows only what each charge hits directly — never the chain.

The full rules

  • Commit once

Move your charges around as much as you like. When you're happy, commit: the charges go off one at a time and the chain plays out on its own. You get one commit a day, and it can't be undone.

The board mid-cascade: most of the top rows already cleared, a white ring where a charge has just gone off, and the COMMIT button dimmed.
  • Measured against par

Every board has a par: the highest score possible on it. It was found by trying every possible placement of the charges before the board shipped, so it isn't a guess — it's the actual best. Your result earns up to five links, and all five means you matched par exactly.

The result card over the board: a score of 10 against par 27, a streak of 1, 8:52 until the next Fuseday, one of five links filled, and Practice and Share buttons.
  • Practice whenever you like

One board a day is the point, but practice boards are there when you want more. Replay one or move on to the next. Practice results are never saved or shared, and they never touch your streak.

Practice board 2, par 30, with two charges left to place on a full 8×8 board of red, yellow, green and blue blocks.

The daily ritual

A new board every midnight. The same one for everyone.

  • Midnight, your time

A new Fuseday starts at midnight on your phone, in your local time. Everyone plays the same numbered board, each at the start of their own day.

  • It counts when you commit

Open the board, think, come back later. A day only counts once you commit, so there is no clock running while you look.

  • A streak with no safety net

Commit on consecutive days to build a streak. Miss one and it starts again from zero — no freezes, no repairs.

  • Share without spoilers

Share your result as a few lines of text: score, par, links and streak. It never gives the board away.

No ads. No tracking. No account.

Fuseday makes no network connections at all — it doesn't even ask for permission to. No analytics, no sign-in, and no server of mine holding a copy of your results. They live on your phone, and in Android's own backup if you use it.

Which also means there is nothing I can restore for you. Uninstall without a backup and your streak goes with it.
